"There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone." (1 Corinthians 12:4-6)
Our parish offers many varied opportunities for sharing our gifts of time and talent to God. As stewards of God-given skills and abilities, volunteering in a ministry or organization provides a way to thank God, work together to grow in our faith, and enhance our parish and local communities.
If you are interested in becoming an active minister of any of our Mass Ministries, please contact the Parish Office during office hours. They greet those coming into our church, offer assistance to those in need, distribute parish bulletins, take up the collection, and distribute other materials as needed.
This ministry provides members of the parish with a true opportunity to function as lay ministers by reverently assisting the celebrant and/or deacon during Mass and at special liturgies throughout the year.
These lay parishioners who are sometimes referred to as Communion Ministers, serve by bringing communion to parishioners who reside in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or in their own homes and unable to get to church. They also may assist the Priest in distributing the Eucharist at Mass.
Lectors proclaim the Word of God clearly and understandably, so that all who hear, meditate and may respond.
The Ministry of Music provides music during weekend Masses, Holy days, Marriage, Funerals and Reconciliation services. Parishioners are invited to share their musical talents with the rest of the congregation through this ministry.
Sacristans assist, facilitate, and provide support and coordination for other liturgical ministries. In addition, they responsible for the necessary preparations for liturgical activities before, during and after the Mass.
These ministers are responsible for working along with the Pastor in decorating the church for various liturgical seasons and feasts.
Parish Mass Offerings
Parish Mass offerings have long been a means for us to remember people and special intentions in prayer, express sympathy and support the Church. The history of this practice comes from people's desire to help supply the necessities for the priest and gifts for the poor. In time, the parish began to supply these elements, and people became involved through their monetary gifts. The importance of understanding Mass intentions as free will offerings cannot be underestimated. However, many people wish to make a monetary offering and appreciated a guideline for giving. The Archbishop approved a suggested Mass offering of $10.00. The Mass intention is placed in the general fund of the parish and used as needed for liturgical expenditures. If you would like to have a Mass celebrated in memory of a loved one, or for a special intention, please call the parish offce (502-348-3717).
